Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE40122

This course is the minimum qualification required for people who are delivering training and assessing vocational learners in the VET sector. This qualification reflects the roles of entry-level vocational education and training (VET) teachers, trainers and assessors who are delivering training services to vocational learners and assessment services to candidates.

The roles may be undertaken by those working in registered training organisations (RTOs), enterprises, community organisations, schools and other VET provision contexts. The volume of learning of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is typically six months to two years. This qualification is the successor to the TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment (see TAE40116 information below).

Course Details

Entry Requirements: There are no academic entry requirements for this qualification, however, learners must demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed training and assessing area. Vocational competence is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience and may include holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification. Ideally, learners will also be involved in a context where they have the opportunity to participate in training and assessing VET learners.

Learners will need a satisfactory grasp of English skills (reading, writing, and speaking). Learners are also advised to have a mentor who can guide and support them in their studies.

There are 6 core units and 6 electives in the TAE40122 Cert IV in Training and Assessment.

Fees: Delivered online or in a combination of online + face-to-face workshops at the Gaythorne campus. $3160* fees for our standard program. Other elective units may be selected and charged at a per-unit cost. We also offer an upgrade program starting from $1500*.

Fees for RPL commence at 50% of tuition fee but may be charged at a higher rate for more involved assessment up to, but not more than the course tuition fees

Confirm you hold the TAE40110 Cert IV in TAA (no credit for BSZ or older TAA versions).  Confirm in your Academic Transcripts that you have attained any one of the below Assessment units: TAEASS502A

TAEASS502 If you have not attained one of the above units you will need to enrol in TAEASS512.
Confirm you are working in a VET environment as a trainer and have completed at least 30 hours. If not, you won’t receive recognition for TAEDEL415 and will need to complete either TAEDEL311, TAEDEL414 or TAEDEL405 through training and assessment, RPL or credit transfer where applicable.Once you have confirmed steps 1-3 you must now attend and complete the TAE40122 Upgrade program which addresses the non-equivalencies and covers units TAEPDD401, TAELLN421 and TAELLN423. You will also have additional assessment tasks to complete the requirements of TAEASS412 and TAEASS413.

The TAE40122 upgrade program fees start at $1500.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE40116

This training is primarily conducted for MVT’s own prospective training and assessing staff. We are however welcoming of others who may wish to obtain this qualification through us. This is the minimum qualification required for people who are involved in training and assessing through the VET sector.

Course Details

Entry Requirements: There are no academic entry requirements for this qualification, however, learners must demonstrate vocational competency in their area of proposed teaching and assessment. Learners will also need to be involved in a context where they have the opportunity to develop training materials and assessment that is suitable for VET.

Learners will need a satisfactory grasp of English skills (reading, writing, and speaking). Learners are also advised to have a mentor who can guide and support them in their studies.

There are 9 core units and 1 elective.

Stream A Brisbane: Delivered online or in a combination of online + face-to-face workshops at the Gaythorne campus. $2805* Tuition Fees + resources (texts and source material) for each unit.

Stream B Adelaide: Delivered via a combination of face-to-face workshops/blended at the Adelaide campus. $2695* Tuition Fees.
